A herb whose leaves & stems are used. Contains salicin (the Herbalists bicarbonate of soda). Also contains salicyclic acid which has an aspirin (anti-thrombotic) effect on blood cells. Actions include : antacid, anti-rheumatic, stomachic, astringent, internal antiseptic, diuretic, hepatic, anti-ulcer, anti-inflammatory, anti-coagulant.

Uses:

Effective relief of indigestion & other upper gastro-intestinal conditions associated with flatulence & hyperacidity, foul breath, oedema, cellulitis.
